Another addition to the family tree

Alhumdulillah Saaleha and I just came back from Joburg. We decided to go up on the long weekend at the last minute and I am glad that we did. On Saturday, Summaiya (As'ad wife) gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. This is their second child, and alhumdulillah, both are now well. Make dua that they both remain well, and Allah Ta'ala blesses the baby with a long and rewarding life.

Home Sick!!!

So Qasim, sorry to hear that u r so lonely over there…but don’t worry, only a couple of days left now. Well Perth might sound like Kwa Duguza but it is far from it. All I can say is that it seems like u r missing home in more ways than one right now (he he he!!!). Might be a good idea to open up a practice in Stanger Shareef. What do u think?

Qasim

Sorry but I cant seem to remove the signatures from the hotmail site... please advise how? I have been disappointed by my post here in Plymouth, they are not offering me as many hours as they said.. so I have changed my ticket to SA to land on the 31st of August... only 3 weeks in total.

People always advise you to get it in writing, and this time I have... so goes to show. Anyway, hope to see everyone when I get back. And see Ashraf And Kathija before their trek...

PLYMOUTH, UK

I have taken the step of leaving my wife and going to work in the UK, right now it feels likea a very stupid move. Difficult being away from everyone, especially Sameera. It was a long trip here, via Dubai, and then a 5 hour train ride which was so full I had to stand the entire time.

Hospital is OK... but lonely. Trying to locate any muslims here to find out about Jummah and Halaal food. Its only my second day here... so make lots of dua that I can manage.

Some action at last

I don't want to blog to myself....that's why I am happy that others are now blogging.  Carry on and get others to join in as well.  Please remove any signatures or add-ons that might be added before you send the email.  Also you can't recall the message once you send it so be certain before you hit the send button. (Otherwise send me an urgent email and I can fix it for you).   I won't change any messages, only edit them in terms of format and style.

We just came back from Sun City where I attended a conference.  It was nice although I was busy everyday until 18h00.  As nice as it is, it stills feels to "man-made".  The conference was worth the trip though.  We also felt the Highveld cold more than once.  It was also nice to see Asad, Qasim, Zaynab and families again.  The children are growing up so quickly.

Back at work,

UK

Salaams to all, nice to hear from Suleman and Ashraf...I may be on my way to the UK again, this time alone! I have been offered a post in orthopaedics starting on the 5th of August, I am just waiting for the confirmation letter before I book my tickets. Suleman, from what you say about Oz, it sounds like Kwa-Dukuza!! Hey Ashraf? Must be nice being home though... no place like it! I will be on the South coast of England, next to Cornwall... for around 6 weeks, maximum. Hope I survive...

Salaams

It is nice to c that Aslam is not blogging to himself. Life in Oz is not too bad, good actually. WA is not as bad as Sydney is. It is actually very relaxed, laid back and peaceful. So Aslam, u should stop over here next time you’re on the continent. It is also very cold here now. I suppose it is as cold as JHB. Looking forward to Ashraf’s arrival and other family holiday makers.

On The Move

I'm sure by now, most of you know that we will be immigrating to Australia. Khatija and I decided to give up our flat in Durban and move to good old Stanger, now known as Kwa Duguza! We decided to spend a few months with parents before we take the plunge. It feels a bit strange living in Stanger again after being away for more than four years. There are plenty of new faces, new businesses but the CBD just doesn't seem to expand. If all goes well, Insha Allah, we will be leaving SA on the 20th November. We plan to settle in Perth, it makes sense to have family around (Ebrahim & Suleman) whilst we find our feet. So all you guys out there, leave the UK and US and start planning to visit us in Australia next year!

Brrrr....

We have been having a very cold spell here, especially for Durban. I have recorded a few very low temperatures as I drive to work, especially near Pietermariztburg. Apparently the same in Johannesburg. It has been difficult getting back to work again after the break but what can one do....

Trip to Malaysia & Australia

Alhumdulillah Saaleha and I have just come back from a holiday to Malaysia with a trip to Sydney as well. Malaysia was an amazing place to visit. The people are friendly, food is not a problem and the shopping is out of this world. It was nice to go back to Sydney after such a long time. Things have changed there, I think. There also appears to be a better quality of life there but Sydney has its own problems....cost of living, travelling, distance from family. On the way back we stopped in Langkawi which was meant to be relaxing, but with so much to see and do in a short time, we have come back needing another holiday. Alhumdulilah we made it back safe and sound. Back to work the next day...... :(
