Close Encounters of the Large Kind
Salaams,
Alhumdulillah we spent this last weekend on the North Coast visiting the Hluhluwe and Imfolozi Parks. It is amazing to think that only a couple of hours away from Durban, you can come close to the most amazing wildlife created by Allah Ta'ala.
This elephant was grazing at the side of the road about 50 metres away from us. He eventually became annoyed with us and walked towards us - we had to move away in a hurry! For those of you who have not taken the time to visit our game parks, you should make the time. You will see the splendour of the Almighty's Creation first hand and be amazed.

Grand Musjid, Cordoba, Spain
Andalucia
Alhumdulillah we have just returned from a visit to Spain. As part of our itinerary, we visited the cities of Cordoba, Granada and Seville in the Andalucia region of Spain. This area of Spain was ruled by Muslims from the 700s to 1400s and is full of Islamic history. It is fascinating to visit these areas where the Muslims have left indelible marks attesting to their prosperity and power.
The accompanying picture is that of the Mehrab of the Musjid in Cordoba. After the fall of the muslims, the musjid was converted into a cathedral but the Mehrab remains as well magnificent open areas lined with double-arched pillars lit by naturall light. It was in its time, the largest musjid in the west and could hold 40 000 worshippers at one time. It is an amazing place to visit as its grandeur and beauty is amazing to behold.
More pictures later insha allah.
Was-salaam,

Subhanallah
(1) For, believers are those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their hearts, and when they hear His signs rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and put (all) their trust in their Lord. (2) Who establish regular prayers and spend (freely) out of the gifts We have given them for sustenance: (3) Such in truth are the Believers: they have grades of dignity with their Lord, and forgiveness, and generous sustenance.
Surat Al-Anfal
Allahu Akbar ...
A Picture that is worth more than a thousand words....
Prayer, a great act of worship that is still obligatory...
Even when trapped in the prisons of the oppressors...
What excuse do we have for not reading ours.
